I love this harp for peaceful relaxation in the hammock, sitting on a bench in the park (you may draw admirers!) and for any time you want harp music that you can just play gently and calmly and without worrying about your timing or how hard that piece of music is to practice! This is a wonderful little harp! It is convenient to carry on a trip to the park or beach, easy to tune and the carry bag is substantial. I also took it to a friend who was hospitalized after surgery and he told me it was "his lifeline" and how much he enjoyed serenading the nurses. I took this harp to a friend with severe PTSD and saw him smile and relax for the first time in days. I have used this harp to play for a dying collie and he responded with calming respirations until he passed. The shape is comfortable and the workmanship exquisite. The Reverie allows that - no matter what strings you touch, the sound is lovely. But, sometimes, I just want to mindlessly "noodle". I practice hard and I love each in their own way. Thank you so much for these lovely, lovely instruments. She joins my Sonnet lap harp as a prized posession. I am so very glad I got this Reverie Harp. The music from this beautiful instrument really has the power to transport you to a very peaceful place. I looked at the clock and saw that nearly an hour and a half had gone by. When I finally paused, I looked over to see the man just rousing from a nap. I strummed, I plucked, I did both together. My husband, who has no musical skills at all, noodled around for 15 minutes or so, then passed it to me. I consider myself a competent musician, but just strumming and picking at random is so liberating. This gives me so many options for rich sounds. Oh, wow! Now I have the basic C major chords to play on one half, and also the F/D minor on the other half of the harp. However, I wanted the Lullaby tuning so I quickly cut out the tuning template and made the few changes needed. Lastly, to my dearest friend Dan Burton, who has done so much for all of us in the harp world with his wonderful arrangements, I thank you especially for restringing your Style 23 and testing tonal response because we trust your expert musical ear in every instance. My lovely Reverie harp made the trip to Canada very quickly, and I could play it as soon as it was unpacked (mostly still in tune, with only a few very slight changes needed to bring it up to snuff.) My husband and I played with it for a few minutes, then tried some of the song sheets. We would like to thank our US teams, which have been working in teaching studios and Universities throughout the US using these strings and everyone was delighted. They passed with flying colors…Red and Black nestled among the lovely shades of natural off-white. Vanderbilt Classic Gut, now back in production, has been tested worldwide in various climatic conditions. This is the exact gauge as Bow Brand, unlike other recent-to-market string options that are noticeably thinner, made for a Camac harp, and thinner strings mean you would need your harp to be re-regulated. Welcome to a world that includes the Vanderbilt Classic Gut Harp String! Many may recall that Vanderbilt was well known for it’s Vanderbilt Classic Gut line and here it is back again! Same product, same production, same happy cows with healthy tummy gut!
